ApexCare was one of the many sponsors for the 2018 Solano Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
This event was held on Saturday, October 27th at the Harbor Plaza in Suisun City. Our very own, Cindi Unger, Community Relations Manager for ApexCare, was one of the Co-Chairs of this entire event and put in countless hours into organizing and ensuring the success of this year’s event.
The Alzheimer’s Association was honored to have Congressman John Garamendi and his wife, Patti, speak at the event. Both Patti and Congressman Garamendi are strong proponents of funding for research and Congressman Garamendi has spearheaded legislation to support continued funding and research for finding a cure to Alzheimer’s. Patti’s mother suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and both Patti and Congressman John Garamendi took primary caregiving roles in caring for Patti’s mother. Thank you to both of you for your dedication and passion for supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.
As of the end of October, this event in Solano County raised over $156,000, which will go towards research for finding a cure to this devastating disease. Congratulations to Team Unity from Unity Church of the Valley for raising $12,650 for this fundraiser. Also, congratulations to Bob Panzer, the individual that raised the greatest individual amount of money at $5,735!
